West Capitol Avenue is a major arterial and commercial spine running through West Sacramento. This award-winning Urban Design and Streetscape Master Plan focused on creating a vibrant streetscape corridor that will be the heart of the community. MIG created a unique street identity through the redesign of the public-private interface, signage and wayfinding, traffic and circulation, infrastructure, financing strategies, and overall streetscape standards. The development standards also address preferred land uses and necessary ordinance and zoning changes. Infrastructure plans assure that underground utilities like sewer, water and storm drainage are adequate for new development.
