Greenprint for Parks, Facilities and Services
City of San Jose, San Jose, California
MIG led the development of the “San Jose Greenprint for Parks,” a comprehensive look at the City’s recreation opportunities and a strategic plan for over $1.2 billion improvements. MIG worked closely with the community to develop an innovative vision and strategic plan that meets future needs and reflects the City’s mission, values and goals. In addition, MIG conducted a Community Needs Assessment to accurately evaluate residents’ needs for specific types of recreation areas and programs. The strategies outlined in the final Strategic Plan focused on increasing access to neighborhood parks and delivering comprehensive recreation and neighborhood services through a system of community facilities. The first phase of plan implementation is nearly complete and has successfully delivered $226 million of necessary recreational improvements along with a much-needed economic boost to the region.
