Metropolitan Transportation Commission Regional Welfare-to-Work Transportation Plan
Metropolitan Transportation Commission, Alameda and Santa Clara Counties, California
MIG provided facilitation and strategic planning services to support the development of welfare-to-work planning efforts to improve transportation options for welfare recipients in Alameda and Santa Clara Counties. MIG organized and conducted meetings with local community groups and social service agencies to understand current transportation barriers and identify gaps between needs and existing transportation options. These local efforts were part of the Metropolitan Transportation Commission's larger regional planning project to establish an ongoing, effective communication process among welfare recipients, social service agencies, community-based organizations, employers, and transportation providers.
