Truckee River Flood Management and Protection Plan

The Truckee River’s history of flooding led to this critical project to provide flood management for Reno, Sparks and the Truckee Meadows. MIG designed and implemented the public involvement process, including regular meetings with the Coalition and eight working groups, encompassing over 35 local stakeholders, 24 public agencies, and members of the public. MIG developed concepts for improving the urban waterfront and created and maintained an interactive project website. The final plan addresses flood protection, restoration and preservation of the River’s natural habitat, scenic beauty, and recreational amenities.
