Beijing Elementary School Outdoor Learning Environment (OLE)

MIG designed an Outdoor Learning Environment (OLE) that provides a rich variety of spaces for students to play, explore and learn in a safe, yet challenging environment. Inspired by the arrangement of traditional Chinese cities and towns, the OLE is made up of a series of courtyards. Each courtyard has a unique focus—math, geography, archeology, physical education, science, performance, games, and arts. Character and symbology is expressed in elements such as entry gates, walls, play areas, and distinctive planting.
