Geary Boulevard Bus Rapid Transit Shelter Ads
MUNI, San Francisco, California
Geary Boulevard is the most heavily used transit corridor in northern San Francisco. Almost 50,000 daily riders rely on Geary bus service, which can be slow and crowded. The San Francisco County Transportation Authority wanted to involve the community in potential bus rapid transit (BRT) designs for the Geary corridor. MIG created whimsical shelter ads depicting everyday people stating what they thought BRT might mean. The ads fueled interest in BRT and engaged the public in a fun way, boosting community involvement.
