Los Angeles Downtown Development Strategy
Downtown Los Angeles Partnership, Los Angeles, California
MIG collaborated with downtown Los Angeles private and public partners to spur a “renaissance of the downtown area” through a strategic development plan for Downtown Los Angeles. In the plan, MIG outlined key actions to revitalize the City Center, such as identifying catalyst sites, revising zoning and building codes, and prioritizing development activities to maximize progress to 2010. The plan contains ten overall key priorities to guide development of the entire Downtown. Housing, mobility and livability were three essential pieces of the plan and have sparked the development of over 5,000 housing units and a 50,000-square-foot new grocery store to support new residents.
