Los Angeles Countywide Water Quality Funding Initiative
Los Angeles County Department of Public Works, Los Angeles County, California
MIG is leading the effort to eliminate pollution and bacteria in the urban runoff draining into the ocean from over 3,000 square miles of Los Angeles County—focusing on multi-objective solutions. Working with the LA County Flood Control District, 85 cities and unincorporated areas, environmental and other advocacy groups, we’re building consensus on the projects that most efficiently and cost-effectively reduce pollution and can enhance habitat, parks and open space. Elements include developing BMPs and a water quality improvement program, resource allocation plan, stakeholder outreach and coalition building, polling and focus groups, and community education.
