MIG hired, trained and supervised students to accomplish a complete architectural barrier assessment of San Diego State University (SDSU). The benefit of this approach was two-fold: a cost savings for the University and an opportunity for students to gain work experience. Specific changes to the surveyed routes were categorized by implementation strategy and prioritized to accommodate budget requirements. We also conducted workshops to prioritize the information and facilitated a public forum to give the community an opportunity to review the criteria and resulting Transition Plan.
