St. Coletta of Greater Washington School Design

MIG, in collaboration with Michael Graves and Associates, designed a new campus for St. Coletta of Greater Washington, an independent non-profit school for youth ages eight to twenty-two with moderate to severe developmental disabilities. MIG assisted with the zoning application process, community meetings and preparing the site design for the new facility. Located in Reservation 13 on 3.8 acres, St. Coletta provides programs and services tailored to each student’s needs, and respectfully gives each individual a chance to express their abilities and practice life skills. The site design includes outdoor classrooms to support the program needs of the students such as art, music, gardening, discovery and exploration. Areas are also planned for students’ physical therapy, sports and exercise. The site plan includes enhanced streetscape and public plazas to improve the neighborhood.
