California State University, Monterey Bay Master Plan Update
California State University, Monterey Bay (CSUMB), Monterey, California
MIG developed a long-range master plan to help guide the transition of the California State University, Monterey Bay campus from an Army base to an institution of higher learning. Existing development was spread out and lacked a sense of place. MIG's approach concentrated new development within a campus core to create a Campus Heart within 10 years. New North Quad Housing and a new Visitors Center have already been developed as a direct result of the Plan. The project received the 2006 Award for Outstanding Planning Project, American Planning Association, California Chapter, Northern Section.
