Parks and Facilities Needs Assessment
Parks, Recreation and Community Services, Redwood City, California
Redwood City is recognized regionally for its active league sports programs, use of artificial turf to expand field capacity and rich neighborhood parks. The City commissioned MIG to assess current and anticipated need, evaluate current and emerging trends, review development standards, and provide practical and strategic direction for parks and facilities. A comprehensive outreach process was key to obtaining qualitative input and data. Through evaluation and analysis, MIG identified community needs, particularly in underserved areas, and presented specific recommendations for policies, programs and facilities to enhance and improve Redwood City's park and recreation system.
