During the planning process the politically sensitive issue of replacing an aging outdoor pool facility revealed itself to be one symptom of a larger need for a clear community decision making process. As a major product within the plan, MIG designed a community driven process to initiate, review and most importantly identify ongoing financial support for any new park projects. Drawing from the input of over 300 community members, the community decision making process bases decisions on criteria with broad community support, rather than political pressure.
