City of Sheridan, Parks and Recreation Master Plan
City of Sheridan, Public Works, Sheridan, Wyoming
The City needed a plan that would not only make recommendations for its parks, recreation facilities and natural areas, but also address the division of responsibilities for park land and recreation services, to maximize agency efficiency as part of the planning effort. MIG conducted an organizational assessment of the overlapping responsibilities between the City and the local Recreation District. The result is an implementation strategy that creates a Parks Division within the Public Works Department, serving as the primary coordinator of parks and recreation services; working in partnership with other agencies this strategy sets the stage to move forward with improvements to parks and trails in Sheridan.
