The resulting Plan is a call to action to the community to reinvest in treasured assets, building on the central role of Wichita’s park and recreation system to building community and quality of life and enhancing the local economy. It builds on the City’s long history of proactive park planning, and acknowledges the high standards that have been set in the past. The Plan provides guidance and direction for reinvigorating recreation programs, reinvesting in the existing system, and connecting the trail system to encourage healthy activity in a sedentary community.
