Arcata Sports Field Improvements

MIG is working with City staff to improve a well-used baseball field that is a popular community recreation resource as well as home to The Arcata Crabs, a semi-professional baseball team. Using a phased approach to accommodate the City’s budget, Phase I was completed in 2006 and included the removal of an adjacent softball field; installation of professional-quality lighting; up-to-date drainage and irrigation; and leveling and replacing the outfield. Phase II calls for stadium seating renovation to comply with ADA standards and increasing the total number of seats to 1,500 to generate more City revenue. The plan is actively being used by The Arcata Crabs to justify fundraising for the site.
