American River Parkway Integrated Area Plan

Building upon a 1985 Parkway Plan, the Integrated Area Plan (IAP) focused on three contiguous sites along the American River Parkway including Discovery Park, Woodlake and Cal Expo. Combining technical resource analysis with community consensus building, MIG developed the IAP to incorporate the interests of six public agencies, 24 citizen appointees and the public to create a safer environment for visitors while balancing new recreation with the protection of natural resources. MIG also prepared conceptual plans for each site that integrated existing and future needs while meeting the goals of the 1985 Plan.
