Howarth Park

MIG designed a themed play area for Howarth Park—a 152-acre community park in Santa Rosa—that would be particularly challenging for young people with and without disabilities. MIG prepared the site analysis, developed the design, prepared the Master Plan and completed construction documents. The play area design reflects the history of the Santa Rosa area, including Miwok Indian huts, a dinosaur “fossil” dig and an “active” volcano. Howarth Park received the 1999 Award of Excellence from the California Park and Recreation Society.
