I-710 Major Corridor Study
Gateway Cities Council of Governments and Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Los Angeles County, California
The I-710 Major Corridor Study was a collaborative effort among four regional and state agencies to address congestion and other issues associated with future infrastructure improvements to the I-170 Freeway. The study identified issues and strategy recommendations for the I-710 freeway corridor such as health, environmental, quality of life, safety, mobility, regional economic development, and land use. MIG conducted a two-tier community engagement program to ensure that residents' concerns were reflected in the study. The Tier 1 process included Community Advisory Committees (CACs) consisting of representatives from 6 different corridor communities. The Tier 2 process featured a 34-member committee (Tier 2) that discussed key local and regional issues identified by the CACs. MIG is currently leading the community outreach for the EIR phase of the project.
