Chase Palm Park

Inspired by its location near the beach, MIG worked with local artists to develop a design concept for a new community park that reflected the city and the site’s history, including a shipwreck that once occurred off the coast. Based on input received from City staff and residents, MIG created a play and learning environment with themes about life in and by the sea. The setting contains an underwater garden of sea life, a pod of whales, sea caves, a marooned village, a large shipwreck, a lighthouse with kaleidoscope, fishing pier, and docks with the facade of a child-sized City of Santa Barbara in the background.
