General Services Administration (GSA) Childcare Centers
General Services Administration (GSA), Washington, District of Columbia
MIG has been working with the General Services Administration (GSA) on childcare facilities since 1986. MIG designed the first childcare center in a Federal building for the Home Loan Bank Board. The “Small Savers” facility was the prototype for future GSA childcare projects. MIG worked closely with GSA child development specialists, architects, users and operators to develop and refine the outdoor play area program and designs to accommodate the needs of each program. Each site presented unique challenges and opportunities. To date MIG has developed centers for: Walt Whitman Park, Washington, DC; the Federal Aviation Administration, Los Angeles, CA; Federal Building, Honolulu, HI; and the Immigration and Naturalization Service, Ziggurat Building, Laguna Niguel, CA.
