Contract Budget Analyst

Our headquarters in Berkeley is seeking a steadfast and experienced Contract Budget Analyst to join our multi-disciplinary team. You will have an integral role leading and providing oversight for all contracts and our budget financial health for all projects firmwide. This role requires collaboration with the office leadership, project accountants, marketing team, and a diverse team of professionals and project managers to help manage contract terms and project budgets for profitability and the overall financial sustainability of our very successful firm. The Contract Budget Analyst will report directly to the Chief Operations Officer and Chief Financial Officer.


  • Oversee all budgets and draft contracts in the project pursuit (marketing) stage to ensure optimal set up for the project’s positive financial performance 
  • Monitor and assist project managers in project budget management for the firm’s portfolio across multiple offices, including developing budget overage mitigation strategies and managing budget changes 
  • Communicate and resolve open issues related to assigned projects
  • Assist with implementing and communicating best practices for project budgets across the firm and ensuring the proper budget-to-actual analysis is performed
  • Analyze project costs and note patterns and strategies for improvement
  • Perform financial flux analysis and identify trends and variances
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge in accounting process and procedure, and internal controls
  • Identify areas of improvement and enhancement in process and controls



The ideal candidate has an accounting or other financial or project management background with experience in the A/E industry and will have the ability to think critically and creatively, be dependable, work as part of a collaborative team in an open environment, and maintain a sense of humor and have fun at work. 

  • 8+ years of experience managing projects, contracts, budgets or firm finances. Experience in the A/E or consulting industry highly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, accounting, finance, project management or related field 
  • Proficiency in Deltek accounting software, Microsoft Excel, Word
  • Professional demeanor, high EQ, positive attitude and desire and willingness to learn 
  • Flexibility, adaptability working with a variety of responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail oriented, accurate, organized
  • Advanced ability to prioritize and evaluate multiple important tasks
  • Must be a team-player with the ability to interact with clients and co-workers with tact and diplomacy
