Director of Marketing and Community Engagement

The Director of Marketing & Community Engagement is the key driver for all branding, advertising and marketing for clients. The successful candidate will also direct all advertising and media buys, including programmatic digital campaigns for private and public agency sectors.


Marketing & Communications

  • Develop and implement marketing strategic plans, advertising/community engagement plans and all forms of advertising; direct media buying; help clients build community support; develop community coalitions and work with the creative team on developing effective informational materials
  • Oversee the creation of innovative multimedia communication engagement tactics
  • Event planning and coordination oversite and implementation
  • Develop, integrate, and implement and marketing initiatives to create demand for products, services and programs

Business Development

  • Identify ways MIG can add value as a strategic business partner to our clients
  • Provide strategic recommendations to existing or prospective clients to include new customers/audiences, innovative programs and market research
  • Drive business development efforts within existing MIG accounts
  • Direct the production of strategic bids and proposals, from concept to implementation and post-sale follow-up
  • Coach, mentor and train team members to contribute to the sales and business development process

Operations & Administration

  • Work with the Principal to achieve organizational goals and objectives
  • Build and support a strong, client-focused team across the entire agency
  • Work in cross-functional teams across the team and across client accounts
  • Coach and mentor staff
  • Provide strategic recommendations and other support to the Principals, as needed


  • BA/BS degree required; MBA preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of marketing, communications, advertising experience
  • At least 5 years of management experience, ideally over cross-functional teams
  • Experience with public agencies, social marketing, private companies and sales strategies
