Project Manager

Full Time

This senior position will be part of a multidisciplinary team that provides strategic planning, organizational development, agency policy planning, strategic communications, master planning and community engagement services in the fields of land use, transportation, park and recreation, natural resources, and social justice. This position will have specific responsibilities related to transportation outreach and policy development.

The project manager will provide professional consulting services including process design, community outreach and education strategies and products, meeting management and facilitation, results analysis and decision support to our federal, state, regional and local, primarily public sector clients.


Candidates must demonstrate independent judgment, personal organization, excellent communication skills and an ability to make decisions and manage multiple priorities. Specific requirements include abilities to:

  • Manage community/stakeholder participation and collaborative planning projects
  • Manage public policy planning projects
  • Design processes and, develop and implement strategic communications for complex planning projects
  • Conduct research to assist with policy development
  • Prepare high-quality written reports
  • Participate in business development efforts
  • Coordinate and manage project teams, including sub-consultants
  • Negotiate and manage contracts and budgets
  • Facilitate public and stakeholder meetings and make related presentations


  • Masters’ degree in public policy, planning, urban studies, environmental studies, public administration, or closely related field
  • Subject expertise in transportation, land use planning, or related areas
  • Seven to ten years senior level experience in project management, strategy development, process design, and strategic communications related decision support
  • Must have consulting experience
  • Understanding of planning issues, and knowledge of emerging trends in civic engagement
  • Excellent facilitation and writing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to bring in projects
  • Ability to work with diverse groups, and conduct non-traditional activities to involve the public
  • MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel required (MS Project and Access) a plus
  • Adobe Creative Suite expertise a plus
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish speaker) a plus
