MIG designed the open-air shopping environment to function as a “town square,” including an inviting central gathering space with flexibility to accommodate various-sized events, attractive seating and lounge areas, native and drought-tolerant landscaping, sculptural elements, and a soothing fountain. The main corridor features contemporary hardscape and plantings—and forward-thinking attention to maintenance and durability. Well-integrated mall kiosks further energize the space and entice shoppers outdoors to enjoy the park-like features and San Diego’s year-round mild climate.

This landmark project creates an urban oasis with places to relax and recharge, stroll, connect, listen to live music, dine, and enjoy a premier outdoor retail experience—drawing patrons from the neighborhood, nearby UC San Diego, and beyond.
