Green Building Council Awards Project of the Year
The US Green Building Council Los Angeles honored Earvin “Magic” Johnson Park as a Project of the Year at the recent Sustainable Innovation Awards (SIA) held in Los Angeles. “The annual Projects of the Year embody not only premier green building practices, but reflect the complete spirit of the SIAs…these projects also exemplify model public-private partnerships and public engagement processes,” the Council stated.
The park also won two SIA Honor Awards, one in the Equity + Environmental Justice category and the other in the Water category.
Santa Monica City Hall East won an SIA Honor award in the Zero Waste + Circular Solutions category.
The SIA Honor Awards “affirm a project team’s commitment to a sustainable built environment; recognize exceptional achievement and innovation…and reflect the (Los Angeles) Chapter’s emphasis on energy and water savings, air quality, waste, good design, community engagement, education and equity.”
