Impressive Turnout, Energy at the MIG-Led Downtown Albany Strategy Workshop

MIG was honored to lead and facilitate the first public workshop for the Downtown Albany Strategy on August 6.

Nearly 700 participants attended the event to provide input to help guide the State’s investments in reinvigorating commercial corridors, strengthening small businesses, promoting housing growth, and revitalizing underutilized real estate and open spaces.

“Public engagement is paramount to success,” said Governor Kathy Hochul. “We have the funding, we have the momentum, and now it’s up to the public to let their voices be heard. By working together, we will transform Albany into a better, brighter city for residents and visitors to enjoy.”

The Strategy is the cornerstone of Governor Hochul’s $400 million Championing Albany’s Potential (CAP) Initiative to revitalize Albany—a once-in-a-generation commitment to the city’s future.

As project lead, MIG will guide a focused, action-oriented planning process that moves from vision to implementation. The Strategy will identify and prioritize catalytic, community-supported projects that deliver visible, lasting impact.
