MIG Opens Brooklyn Office

“While we remain two firms, our co-location allows us to build on our shared values and interdisciplinary approaches to expand the breadth and reach of all our services,” said MIG, Inc., CEO Daniel Iacofano. “We are collaborating on an array of fantastic projects already, and we’re excited to join forces on many more.”

“Our shared mission is to connect people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to nature in creative and meaningful ways, said Barbara Wilks (FAIA, FASLA), W’s Founding Partner.

With complementary expertise and skillsets, the two firms offer architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, planning, communications, graphic design, and community engagement services—with an emphasis on integrating the social, environmental and economic futures of the places in which we live, work and play.

Amy Mitchell (ASLA, CPSI), MIG Principal and Director of Landscape Architecture in Berkeley, is now also Managing Partner of W. Amy is an award-winning, visionary landscape architect with more than 20 years of experience in designing public spaces, with a specific emphasis in the creation of specialized children’s environments and inclusive places for all. She will divide her time between MIG’s Berkeley and Brooklyn offices.

Jay Renkens (AICP), MIG Principal and Firmwide Director of Planning and Design Services, will lead the MIG Brooklyn office. Jay has more than 20 years of experience as an urban planner and designer who leads projects from vision to implementation by facilitating authentic collaboration, consensus and engagement with public and private sector clients, stakeholders and communities. Jay will divide his time between MIG’s Denver and Brooklyn offices.
