Christopher Kent is a leader in the discipline of landscape architecture, with a passion for creating memorable, inclusive spaces that improve the quality of life for those who use them. Working with engineers, architects, and project teams, Chris seeks to improve, soften, and humanize the built environment.

Thirty years of practice in the Bay Area informs his experience across the spectrum of design work, including community facilitation, exhibit preparation, and detailing and executing projects into construction. Chris brings a talent for engaging communities with the design process, integrating their feedback into designs, and presenting solutions that are elegant and functional.

Chris excels at conceptual design, balancing creativity with his vast practical experience, bringing to life projects that are buildable, maintainable, and affordable. In all his work, he grounds his ideas in succession, creating spaces that can endure over time. Chris co-led PGAdesign Landscape Architects for more than 20 years, guiding the firm with a shared commitment to creating landscapes of cultural significance.

He currently serves on the Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Commission for the City of Albany. His past roles include serving on the City of Albany’s Planning Commission, the ASLA Government Affairs Committee on Transportation, and as an ASLA Trustee.
