Mountain View Shoreline Bridges Replacement
The beautiful Shoreline at Mountain View Regional Park is a 750-acre wildlife refuge and recreation area along San Francisco Bay. It includes the City-owned Shoreline Golf Links golf course—with two structurally deficient pedestrian bridges spanning artificially created water features. Removing and replacing them required navigating complex biological resources. The project area was historically a wetland, then was used as a landfill prior to Shoreline Regional Park opening in 1983.
After an interagency meeting with permitting authorities about project design and permitting requirements, MIG provided the information needed for the Army Corps to determine the golf course site is not within jurisdictional waters and therefore an Army Corps permit was not required. MIG prepared an Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration for the project and assisted with Regional Water Quality Control Board permitting and California Department of Fish and Wildlife Notification.
