Public Art Consulting: Fractalism

MIG served as Public Art Consultant for Fractalism, a landmark sculptural installation by artist Giles Miller at the IQHQ Spur District in South San Francisco.

A prominent feature of the District’s architecture, Fractalism transforms the pedestrian experience into a dynamic and memorable encounter. Unfolding across the building façade like a metallic wave, the sculpture captures shifting light throughout the day, adding texture, motion, and warmth to the surrounding environment.

The team identified Giles Miller as an artist whose work aligned with the forward-thinking identity of IQHQ—bridging art, architecture, and material innovation. MIG guided the project from concept through installation, working closely with IQHQ, engineers, and fabrication partners to ensure seamless integration with the building design.

Fractalism establishes a distinctive visual identity for the Spur District and transforms a moment of passage into a moment of pause, reinforcing IQHQ’s commitment to design excellence and the role of integrated public art in shaping innovative environments.
