Landscape Sharkitecture! ASLA Cites Jaw-Dropping Aquariums

Take “an in-depth look at these jaw-dropping aquariums designed by our members.” That’s the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) inviting teachers to explore and share its virtual resources with students, colleagues and partnering families. Tools for Teachers is part of ASLA’s Career Discovery and Diversity initiative, promoting landscape architecture as a career option and fostering diversity in the profession.

The three-story, 57,000 square-foot aquarium Ocean Wonders: Sharks designed by MIG includes 18 species of sharks and rays—most found in the waters surrounding New York. It won the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) Top Honors Award in Exhibit Design in 2019.
