3C-REN Branding and Marketing Kit
MIG has an ongoing collaborative relationship with 3C-REN, a partnership formed by San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura counties to meet state climate goals through a range of energy programs. Since 2020, MIG has worked with 3C-REN to establish the organization’s brand and develop marketing materials that promote 3C-REN programs and services to underserved communities and local building industry professionals.
Prior to its market introduction in 2020, 3C-REN hired MIG to develop an overarching brand for the organization, along with sub-brands for each of the three prominent programs 3C-REN manages. MIG created a visual identity with a logo, color palette, and graphical elements that reflect the diverse audiences, cultures, and geographies throughout the Tri-County region. MIG devised new names for 3C-REN’s three public-facing programs: Home Energy Savings, Building Performance Training, and Energy Code Connect. The individual programs are differentiated by color, reinforcing their connection to each other and place in the 3C-REN family. MIG also produced brand guidelines to ensure appropriate usage of the brand elements by 3C-REN as well as third party implementers and program partners. MIG also developed a program website (3c-ren.org) that serves as a primary destination for homeowners and industry professionals seeking information about available resources.
To ensure successful implementation of the brand, MIG created an initial “jumpstart” marketing strategy, along with supporting collateral to help 3C-REN effectively launch its programs to the public. MIG continues its role as 3C-REN’s lead marketing partner, providing regular updates to the marketing strategy, enhancements to the website, and a full suite of marketing materials.
